When our team researched the most popular crafts for those 60+, we were delighted to discover that many were already offered at The Center!

Popular Crafting Classes for Senior Citizens

1. Cardmaking & Paper Crafts

  • Greeting cards

  • Seasonal/holiday paper crafts
    Why seniors love it: Easy to learn, social, inexpensive, and great for memory-sharing projects.

BONUS! Our Card Recyclers meet every Monday and Friday from 8:00 am to noon. Join them for a few hours of paper-craft fun and socializing.

2. Knitting, Crocheting & Yarn Arts

  • Beginner knitting

  • Crochet basics

  • Loom knitting

  • “Stitch-and-Chat” groups
    Why it works: Relaxing, portable, and perfect for social connection.

BONUS! Our Knitters and Crocheters meet every Wednesday in the Board Room and new members are always welcome to join in.

3. Painting & Drawing

  • Acrylic painting

  • Watercolor classes

  • Guided “paint-along” sessions

    Why it works: Creative expression, calming, and produces beautiful, finished pieces.

BONUS! The Center has TWO opportunities for creative painting. Daria’s Watercolor and Drawing Group meets every Thursday from 10-12:00pm in the Craft Room ($10 per class paid to the instructor) and our Rosemalers meet every Wednesday on the third-floor conference room around 10:30 a.m.

BONUS! We will be hosting a Crafts with Kids event January 2, 2026. The Happy Hoppers 4-H Group will be on hand to co-create fun seasonal crafts with Center members. No cost to attend and the sign-up is at the front desk.
